The team at Technical Translations have a regular requirement to find the most accurate translated terms for scientific or technical words or phrases, and there are many websites which offer useful resources to translators and technical clients alike.
One such resource is onelook which allows technical terms to be examined in a number of subject specific dictionaries in order for the translator to find the definition which is most appropriate to the required technical field. The site also includes an online translation resource, although we don’t recommend that this is relied upon other than as a translation suggestion tool.
Of course many of our translators are responsible for developing the terminology which makes its way into the technical dictionaries for their specialist field, but no translator can have too many technical translation dictionaries.
