Technical Translations Ben Wyatt has a special interest in Green energy technology and noted with interest the figures recently released in respect of Chinese investment in new energy technology. According to figures recently released the Chinese invested $54.4bn (£34.1bn) in green Energy Technology in 2010, up from $39.1bn in 2009, putting them at the top of the list of countries investing in new energy technologies. The 12th Five-Year Plan period includes many targets for Green technology which would be the envy of many developing nations. Among the initiatives planned are: A low-carbon emissions trading project in Xiamen. Inner Mongolia, China's top wind power region is to expand its current 13 GW capacity with the planned installation of 30 GW of wind power generating capacity by 2015 and 50 GW by 2020. This compares well with figures relating to other sources of energy for example Nuclear. China will have 42.9 million kilowatts of nuclear power generation capacity by 2015.
